United Way |
|
| We believe our future depends on the economic strength and social wellbeing of the communities we serve. Each year, the employees of Canadian Niagara Power Inc. and FortisOntario donate generously to the United Way through payroll deductions and fundraising events. In 2005, the employees and company donated more than $26,000 for the United Way agencies in Fort Erie and Port Colborne. | |

In 1999 Canadian Niagara Power teamed up with the Town of Fort Erie to create a community green space that includes playground equipment, basketball court, baseball diamond, picnic tables, park benches, trees and a walking path. Each organization contributed $55,000, over a two-year period, to develop Energy Field, a five-acre park in the Garrison Road subdivision in Fort Erie.
On August 31, 2000 Mayor Wayne Redekop and former President & CEO of Canadian Niagara Power, Mardon Erbland, unveiled the dedication plaque at the grand opening ceremonies attended by area residents, and staff from both CNP and the Town. |
